PhD students’ activities – General considerations
The educational training will consist of different activities, which can be summarized as follows:
- basic courses and courses common to various scientific areas (to promote an enrichment on basic knowledge, to allow a multidisciplinary approach in science, to complete the students’ preparation in research organization and design and in project funding and management);
- specific courses related to the chosen research activity (to provide specific knowledge for the development of the student’s field of research);
- orientative and educational activities on advanced instrumentation and innovative techniques and methodologies (through participation in DISVA internships and practical courses);
- scientific, networking and educational activities on different/specific fields of research (through participation in workshops, congresses, schools and internships in research centers, Large Scale Facilities, international, national, regional institutions or in external labs);
- research activity on the chosen subject for the preparation of the PhD thesis (this activity includes individual study, literature research, laboratory attendance and everything else necessary to reach new ways of solving problems related to the chosen research project);
- educational supporting activities for Bachelor and Master degree courses;
- manuscript preparation and writing.
