Radioisotopes Laboratory

“The Radioisotopes laboratory of the Department of Life and Environmental Sciences is equipped for research activities involving the use of radioisotopes, in accordance with all the relevant safety regulations. This is one of the few laboratories with such characteristics and for this reason it can also be used by scientific staff of other faculties.

The research activities carried out from DiSVA in this laboratory primarily focus on cell metabolism of both prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms. In particular, experiments based on the use of radioisotopes are performed to understand the functioning of microbial networks in marine environments, as well as eco-physiological adaptations of phytoplankton in relation to environmental conditions.”
